Weekending No.7 Mardi Gras

Friday night Ryleigh stayed with my aunt and I went out to eat with my mom and BK. We went to Newks then came home and called it an early night.
 
Saturday morning I woke up and cooked French toast for breakfast. Around lunch we went to town to get some things for a crawfish boil that afternoon. We enjoyed some yummy crawfish and beer later and sat around a fire talking with friends and family Saturday night.
 
Sunday morning we got up early and left to go to Houma, Lousiana for a mardi gras parade. We went with a large group of friends and had the best time!



 
After the parade we stopped to get king cakes and eat a late lunch/early supper at Zydecos.

They have some of the best char-grilled oysters I've ever ate!

Pasta Ponchatrain was amazing! Fried shrimp and oysters in a creamy alfredo sauce. Heaven!!
 
I enjoyed my weekend a lot, and I'm feeling more Cajun after this weekend ha! I hope everyone has a great week.

Happy Monday! I am sure it was just Friday, where did the weekend go?? We stayed busy this weekend with 3 birthday parties, a sleep over, and helping Walt cut corn. As soon as I got off work Friday I picked the girls up and took them to birthday #1, which was a swimming party. My nephews and niece were there so the girls played with them.   Saturday morning I worked on a few shirt orders while the girls played.   After lunch we rode the combine for a little while with Walt before we headed to birthday #2.   The girls had fun at the birthday party and my nephews came home for a sleep over with us. We grilled steak and sausage for supper. After we ate we made smores, what kid doesn't like smores??   Sunday morning I cooked homemade French toast and eggs for breakfast. Weekending & August Book Review

Happy Tuesday! I thought I would throw a funny out there since we are under a tropical storm warning! Seriously ya'll pray for Mississippi and Louisiana as we prepare for TS Gordon to make landfall tonight/early tomorrow.    Friday night after I dropped the girls off at their father's house I went back to the shop and boiled peanuts with Walt. We ended up calling it an early night since we had to get up early Saturday. Saturday morning we were up at 5:30 for the morning dove hunt. Ya'll I think I shot a full box of shells and only killed one dove! (insert laughter!!) My shoulder is still sore from shooting that 12 gauge so much.   I left the dove hunt a little early so I could go get my hair cut. About a month ago I had my hair cut and colored, but I just wanted a little more cut off. I am so happy I decided to do that!   I came home and watched a little bit of the Ole Miss game.
