Weekending

Happy Monday! This weekend seems like it flew by for me. I don't know why but when September comes around my schedule starts getting busy! Friday was Rockstar Day for the girls at school, and I have to share just how cute they were. Walt had to jump in that last picture haha.   I dropped the girls off at their dad's house Friday afternoon. When I got home I spent the rest of the evening working on shirts, while Walt finished spraying the cotton. We grilled steaks for supper and called it an early night.   Saturday morning I got up early and went to watch Ryleigh in her rodeo. Ya'll it was SO HOT! I'm not even kidding at how hot it was Saturday and Sunday. Luckily we were in a covered arena all day, but my poor child was burning up! After her rodeo, I rushed home to get ready for my friend's wedding. We were sweating up a storm at 5:00, but her wedding turned out beautiful.   Sunday morning I got up early, picked my mom up, and headed to Ry...

Fall Favorites: Instapot Meals

Image
Linking up with Sarah  and Emily  to share my favorite instapot meals. I know the linkup is for crockpot meals, but the truth is I don't own a crockpot! 🙈 I feel like instapot meals are a lot like crockpot meals, just faster! I am sharing two of my regular meals and two meals I haven't tried yet, but will be perfect for fall!   1. Mississippi Roast Recipe: 5lb chuck roast 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 cup coca cola 1 packet ranch dressing mix 1 packet au jus mix 4 tablespoons butter optional* 6-8 pepperoncini's   Directions: Turn instapot to sauté, pour in your oil, and brown your roast on all sides. After you have browned the roast pour the rest of your ingredients in and turn your instapot to pressure cook/manual and set timer for 40 minutes. Once it has cooked for 40 minutes, let your instapot natural vent for an additional 20 minutes. Vent any remaining pressure and open. I love this recipe because it is so easy to cook, an...

Weekending & August Book Review

Happy Tuesday! I thought I would throw a funny out there since we are under a tropical storm warning! Seriously ya'll pray for Mississippi and Louisiana as we prepare for TS Gordon to make landfall tonight/early tomorrow.    Friday night after I dropped the girls off at their father's house I went back to the shop and boiled peanuts with Walt. We ended up calling it an early night since we had to get up early Saturday. Saturday morning we were up at 5:30 for the morning dove hunt. Ya'll I think I shot a full box of shells and only killed one dove! (insert laughter!!) My shoulder is still sore from shooting that 12 gauge so much.   I left the dove hunt a little early so I could go get my hair cut. About a month ago I had my hair cut and colored, but I just wanted a little more cut off. I am so happy I decided to do that!   I came home and watched a little bit of the Ole Miss game. Then I went to a wedding shower for a co worker Saturday afternoon....

Friday Favorites

I am pumped for a three day weekend!! I have lots of things planned from opening day of dove season, college football, peanut boil, and a wedding shower!! Today I am sharing what we have been up to lately.   Last Saturday we had a birthday at our house to celebrate Allie Brooke turning 4. We invited our close family and had a great time. I am so thankful that my girls love and accept AB as much as they do. Sunday afternoon we rode the tractor with Walter while he was baling hay. Let me tell ya'll, Ryleigh is a natural at driving a tractor. It took her 2.5 seconds and she was baling hay on her own! Bk and I rode about 2 rounds then we let Walt and Ry handle it.   We have had some pretty weather so we have been spending the afternoons outside jumping on the trampoline.   We made homemade pizzas for supper Tuesday. Brynlee made a cheese pizza and Ryleigh made a pepperoni pizza. Walter and I made a bbq pulled pork pizza and it was sooo good....

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!! I don't know about ya'll but I am SO happy it is finally the weekend. I feel like this has been the longest week e.v.e.r. We are having a birthday party for my step daughter tomorrow morning, followed by another birthday party, then a wedding shower tomorrow night. (talk about running crazy) I'm just sharing what we've been up to lately!   Brynlee started ballet last week. Look how grown up my girl is! I hope she loves dance as much as I did when I was little. Because her class is during the day my mom has to take her, which makes me a little sad. Ryleigh started baton last week, but of course she wouldn't let me take a picture #grownup.   I snapped this picture one afternoon after our walk. I just thought it was so cute because for like 2.5 seconds they weren't fighting!!   While Ryleigh was in baton last week, Brynlee played in the splash pad by the dance class. Right as we were leaving the train came by. Look at the excitem...
